If You're Interested

If you’re interested in contributing to the Watershed Review, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re a longtime fellow or someone who has simply been moved to write, create, or reflect, there is space here for your work. We’re building this journal slowly and intentionally, so submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis rather than against a fixed deadline. Reach out any time — early drafts, half-formed ideas, and finished pieces are all welcome starting points for a conversation.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for work that explores the relationship between ecology, embodiment, spirituality, and culture — writing and images that help readers slow down, pay attention, and reconnect with the living world. Some of the forms we welcome:

Essays & Papers | Poetry  | Photo Essays  | Interviews & Conversations

How to Submit

Reach out first

Send a short note introducing yourself and your idea — a few sentences is enough. This isn't a formal query letter, just a way for us to start the conversation.

Share a draft or outline.

Once we've connected, send your piece (or a clear outline if it's still in progress) as a Word document, PDF, or Google Doc link. For photo essays, include images as high-resolution files alongside your text.

We read and respond.

Our editorial team reviews submissions on a rolling basis. We'll follow up with feedback, questions, or next steps — this may include a light collaborative editing process.
